Odour Control

ODS can supply deodarisers to use various systems. We can use rotary atomisers, high pressure nozzle systems and air nozzle systems.

Systems can be fitted indoors to transfer stations or outside on landfills.

Neutralizers: 7D-A
The primary benefit of using 7D-A is it actually neutralizes odorous compounds such as ammonia and methyl amines (tri and di).

Our definition of neutralizing means we actually remove the odorous compound by changing its chemical structure. When it attaches to NH3, the reaction yields a non-volatile compound. So, ammonia is no longer ammonia. The EEC has stipulated there be a reduction in the volume of NH3 produced annually. Using 7DA helps achieve this.

Of all the other so called odour 'neutralizers' in the market, we are not aware of any that actually change the structure of NH3. This is due to the fact that they are made of a number of essential oils, emulsifiers and a surfactant and there isn't an essential oil that is capable of reacting with an NH3 molecule to form a new compound. The primary way in which these products work is based on encapsulation. Effectively, the mass of the odour neutralizer particle is heavier than air (NH3 gas) and when sprayed/fogged it captures the odour particle it knocks it to the ground, thereby removing it from the airspace.

There are 2 problems with this:

1. as NH3 has not been chemically changed, it is still available to cause damage to the environment.
2. as NH3 has not been chemically changed, it can be released back into the air by the degradation of the surfactant and oil; by being subject to disturbance as is found with turbulent water are when soil is excavated/turned over.

Essentially, other products available in the market are only short-term aesthetic remedies.
